But it took ridicule to start the process.
It took his brothers throwing him into a lonely, dry well.
It took them lying to his father about his demise.
It took him being sold into a lifestyle of slavery.
It took being sold to a Potiphar.
It took Potiphar’s wife lying.
It took Potiphar misunderstanding and being angry, despite Joseph’s innocence.
It took going to prison.
But it took being available.
It took being available to the torture of the brothers.
It took being available to the Ishmaelites.
It took being available to Potiphar.
It took being available to other prisoners
It took being available to the warden.
And finally, when the Pharaoh couldn’t sleep, it took being available to Pharaoh.
Then the final act was set. It took diligence and wisdom during times of prosperity, so that when the world experienced trouble, they could find preservation and refuge.
It took rumors, lies, misunderstandings, neglect, and isolation. But, when one was needed to be available, it took a Joseph.
How available are you?
